Please familiarize yourself with the Professional Teaching Standards and the Evaluation rubric at http://www.ncptsc.org/. This will be the topic of meetings, discussions, and professional development at your school during the 2009-2010 school year as we will use the instrument in 2010-2011.
Something to think about: Online colleges and degrees offered
If you complete a Masters program from an online institution that is outside the North Carolina university system, please be advised the program does not lead to licensure in North Carolina.
In other words, your license will not have an "M" designation for Masters on the license.
However, you will be paid at the Masters level if the institution is regionally accredited, ie. Univ. of Phoenix, Walden Univ., etc.
Please remember to have teachers and teacher assistants sign different lists for CEU credit. (Forms found under Renewal Credit Forms folder) Teacher credit goes to Donna Kirkpatrick, Non-certified to Michelle Harris. Retirees or participants not with McDowell County Schools must take care of CEU credit themselves.
